GM engine families

I think we can all agree those 60* Pushrod V6'* have a slight problem with gasket leaks in various places. But with proper care, they are great engines. I've driven a G6 with the 3500, and it has a lot of pickup.

I have a Cadillac SRX right now as a rental and it has the 3.6. IMO, the engine is undersized for the application in an SRX. It does get up, but not as well as my 99 could. I'd have to say that after my 150 mile trip this morning across the state that I'm disappointed. The engine had an annoying whine when getting into the throttle and the RPMs would stay much higher (causing a louder engine) to produce the torque needed to pass and just plain accelerate. :?
