After first hand experience of owning and the length of time they lasted
1964 Falcon Sprint -18 months I finally slid into a rock face in a hairpin and put it out of it'* misery
1964 XL-3 months blown 390
1965 Galaxy 500-Year, a long costly year.Pulled the oil plug finally on a vacant lot and killed it like the Dog it was
1965 Mustang-hit utility pole. automatic was worthless under a 100k miles
1972 Pinto- 1 year of always fixin before I hit some RR tracks doing ?70? and tore the front end off
1972 Ford F100-rolled down an embankment. Tranny problems x10, rust bucket
1976 Mustang-2 years of misery and money Sold to a friend, now exfriend. He now hates Fords also.
1988 Ford 4x4 150, I dipped back in the well after almost 20 years because the price was right. In two years. I had to rebuild the transfer case, rear gas tank fell out of it, rear main spring snapped, u jionts front and back, exaust heads rotted out at the doughnut, high beam floor switch shorted and took out wiring harness. It sits in a side yard with pieces rusting anfd falling to the ground everytime I go by it.
OK so you might say I'm a little hard on cars. I had a
85 Olds Regency for 240k, it went to the yard because it just loked outdated and had a few bruises along the way, still ran ok.
91 Lasabre i gave my Daughter at 136k, still running.
91 Park Ave */C Ultra 142k sold and still running.
92 Park Ave sits in my driveway with nothing wrong with it at 176k.other than no plates. There is a reason GM puts 6 digits on the odometer. They expect them to last.
Also have a 94 Dodge Dually with almost 130k and never been to the Dealer or had one problem with other than Battery and 1 headlite.

There'* something about a Ford that even mechanics don't like..
They never make they reasonable to work on.. it'* known..that if the space you have available is 1"..then the bolt will be 3"
I had a Ford..it treated me pretty good.. the the EECV aka computer went bad..
