the GTO failed because it was so freaking boring looking... it looks like a grand am with rumble in the tailpipes....
The G8 actually shows some intelligent styling cues to is, and also will definitely sell better as a 4 door

It'll absorb Grand Prix buyers, which we know there are lots of. It really has pretty little in common with the GTO. I'm fairly certain it'll be just as popular as, say, a 5 series, but cheaper.

The G8 is replacing the Grand Prix, and is also supposed to try to FILL the gap left by the Bonneville.
