Default New Car...

As most of you can tell from my Sig, i drive a 94 Honda Civic.....mods....B-16 A2 engine swap running a 99 Si Pcm. But...my da decided that he would rather me drive something "safer"....so he went out and bought me a 1999 GMC Sonoma 4X4 Ext. Cab W/ Tonneu Cover and bedliner. 3.4 Auto. it barely hit 99 k miles...what ya guys think? Lift? Oversized tires? Im giving my dad the civic...he still doesnt know that I swapped the motor....... :P

Wow, nice dad you got there.

Heres what I suggest before doing any mods...to prolong its life

At 100k, you might want to bring it up to snuff maintenance wise before even thinking about a lift kit/oversize tires, etc.

Flush transmission & replace filter.
Change fluid in both differentials and replace with a high quality synthetic gear lube (amsoil severe gear) *just a recommendation*
Give it some mobil 1 oil and a pure one filter
Replace plugs, wires, fuel filter, PCV valve, air filter (or intake)
Check your oil lines (theres a good chance they're leaking, replace if so)
Do a chassis lube

after all that is done...then sure, lift kit.

Nice

I have always been a huge fan of the *-10s and I have owned four Blazers and one truck. all have been very off-road capeable.

One thing though... your *-10 has a 4.3, not a 3.4

another thing to keep an eye on is the front wheel bearings and ball joints.

After all the above is done, crank the torsion bars up a little and you can easily fit some 31X10.50 tires on it, and they will get you through some good stuff off-road. That is all I had on all but one of my *-10s and I was very happy with them.

want to go all out???? V8 swap, TH350 trans, 6 in. superlift, 33s,

I actually had a '91 *-10 blazer that I swapped in a 350, th350 trans, 3 in. body lift, spring over axle conversion in back, cranked torsion bars up front, rear locker, and 33X14.50 Mickey Thompsons on it Dang, that was a fun toy

Oh, no, forget the 350...go turbo...those motors can handle 4-450hp on the stock crank, and still use less fuel than a 350...

I was looking for lifts and all i can find are body lifts...and my bad it is a 4.3...a little typo there. Im gonna go pick it up this weekend and ill be sure to take pictures of it and post them here. So ..... if you guys can guide me to a site or place here in sac that i could find a Suspension lift...i would greatly appreciate it. My dad already gutted the interior and cleaned it all out. he says that the mirrors are screwd up and that we need to get new ones... i have to look for those as well...
Ill see if i can sneak those flushes and services into work wothout my manager finding out. I already have a bunch of buddies that want to take me out muddin and wheeling..Im really stoked...but...im gonna miss my Honda.
