You're not diagnosing it right. The GP has a 3.1 most likely if it'* a 95 popatim. Hate to rain on your parade.... Then again, L67 swaps are doable in there.

Not even a 3.1. That ended in the early 90s.

To be specific, that car has the 3100. It'* very likely that the LIM gaskets failed. The UIM and LIM are aluminum on the 3100.

if its the 3100 the LIM gaskets are more work than the 3.8 but aren't tooo bad.

Exactly. The lifters have to be removed to get the LIM off.

I've done LIM gaskets on a 3100/3400. Only thing that needs removed is the pushrods to get the LIM gaskets off. Pretty simple.

Ok I stopped and looked at the car, its not even a v6 at all. LOL.
Its got a quad 4. Coolant is full, the oil is fine. I couldn't check for spark at the time. Engine turns over but will not start or even sputter like it was trying to.

I know nothing about the quad 4. So he'll give me until tomorrow to decide if I want it otherwise to the yard it goes.

I am open to suggestions I was thinking Coil, ICM, or CPS myself. Anyone know where these are located or a site that I could go to for more info?

gotta run to the JY so no time atm to google.
Thanks for all the input so far!

I'd take it anyways, Worst case you part it out, make some money and then you can sell it to the junk yard

quad 4 can be a stong motor and it can have it'* issues. Kinda sounds like a spark issues to me from the brief description. I think the head gaskets were known to go in those, but with the coolent and oil looking good, that might not be the case in this one.

The junkyard in Binghamton has a Cutlass Supreme with the quad 4 in it if you need parts to fix it. The prices are very reasonable. I just got a tranny, axles, shift assemly and related lines for $160. I get $35 back if I bring back a bad tranny and axles.

I say go for it. Rob and i will drive out one weekend and help you play... err fix it. either way, if you can get it to a junkyard, most pay $50-100 for a car.
