Steve, 93SSESC, is I believe, and I think Gonneville might be...

My dad ran a trucking company last year, but that isn't like driving at all.

I know a few and it'* not that hard except traffic and such. Neither one like it very much but the money is good. I don't like either one of them too much- but that'* another topic.

I am. Drove long-haul for almost 9 years. Did it as a company driver, then an owner-operater, then an independent. Now I drive locally for a company and am home every night. I don't work weekends. I get paid holidays and vacation along with great health benefits.
When yoou say you want to get into trucking you have to decide which type fits your situation the best How much time are you willing to dedicate to it? If you have the freedom to be out on the road for long periods of time I highly recommend starting with long-haul. I have seen things in this country that would have never seen in my ylifetime had I not been behind the wheel of the truck. It'* all a matter personal preference and what you are looking to get from the experience.

Well Im 23 years old, I still dont know what I want to do with my life.

It doesnt matter to me what type I become I just need to make more then I am now.

I am interested in doing it cross country just to travel a lot.

When you go cross country how many hours straight did you drive for?

How did you get into it? I have 3 days off after monday and I really do want to start asking around.

You also have to remember bad weather- ice, wind, etc. I would hate to drive in the winter months or get caught up in the middle of no where during a tornado!
