My Car Plan (comments welcome)
ok, so i am pretty much fed up with my alero. ever since i hit 110,000 miles, everything is breaking from big things like the power steering to little things like the heater resistor pack. I am currently exploring future car ideas and i think this combination I could pull off without too much $$.. my plan includes owning a summer car and a "winter" beater.
summer car: price: $5000
1998 Pontiac Trans Am. 70,000 miles, Bright Purple Metallic (kinda gay but supposibly a rare color) owner lived two houses down from me but died of brain cancer. his brother is keeping the car for now but offered it to me for $5000
winter car: price: $1500
1995 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi. 65,000 miles, white. its the one that i am always on here for. the car'* a little too rotted out to be anything too nice but would be a good ride for winter months or when the Trans Am isn't a good idea.
Bottom Line: both are sporty cars with good power ( i'm tired of boring underpowered sedans) and shouln't break the bank with only $6500 invested for 2 cars. anybody know what insurance would be like for PLPD on the bonneville and collision with a $1000 deductible on the trans am?
comment away!

I wouldn't even know where to begin guessing. Go online and try on a site or two. That'* the best I can say. I'm paying about $1000 a year for my car, and wifes van, $250 deductible. And we both have clean driving records.

the girl that has the bonneville currently keeps full insurance with a $500 deductible on it and its colse to $200 per month. i told her its not worth it

Ya, collision on a car 8 years and older is a rough rate. Check around, Comprehensive might be a better choice. A little better coverage, but not as pricey as collision.

you could stick that 5 G'* into the Bonneville...lol
I still have collision on my 95 SSE just haven't had the need to take it off. Had the car since new and never took it off after I payed it off.
All though if the car gets into a wreck and you didn't have collision on it, and the other person who hit you doesn't have insurance would you have enough money in the bank to replace what you had?
food for thought...
