Yeah it really is a good thing you're ok. When I was in high school my sophmore year there was this kid in one of my classes that got into a car deer accident. One of the deer'* hooves came through the windsheild and grazed the side of this his face from his cheekbone to his ear... he was knocked unconcious. He came to school maybe a week and a half or two after it all happened with stiches across the side of his face. I didn't have to see the accident to know that it was pretty grousom! Of course he drove a smaller car that was lower to the ground I can't remember what it was but I'm sure your Bonne saved you from alot of heartache!! Glad to hear you're ok!

There IS alot of "hood" to cover in order to reach the windsheild! I love my bonne... if a deer ever ran out and I hit it I'd get out and beat it to death if it wasn't already dead! I'd be so pissed!!! Then I'd cry over my car!

That should be a sport! "DEER WRESTLING" I'm game!!!

Now that'* a bad hit there, poor deer & Durango not to mention the driver. Fortuneately he is or was okay, that dates back to 02. I actually did some work on my front end today & was able to straighten some brackets, tweak some braces etc. It looking pretty good almost like nothing ever happened. A person not looking for damage wouldn't even notice. I still have to pick up a right side headlamp assembly though. This one will fill with water when it rains.

Yeah, 3750 lbs of steel traveling 30 mph (in my case) closing on a 80-100 lb (estimate) deer, the Bonne wins. But with the hit, the dear was still able to get up & scurry into the woods on the other side of the road. I don't like to hurt any animals, however, this was unavoidable. I've come to screeching halts & swerves on back roads to avoid hitting deer. There seems to be a lot of deer lately moving around, more so than normal.

Thank you Melissa for the kind words. You drive cautously yourself too, okay This is advice for everyone. Keep your eyes peeled & drive a little slower on dark country roads in heavily wooded areas. As a side note, Tuesday night my 19 year old niece (Paige) was in a bad accident. She'* in critical condition still & in the ICU. She is a bright, wonderful, young woman going to college and working a part time job, so please if anyone could, say a little prayer. :( I appreciate it.
