Damn brakes !!!
So I was on my way to work this morning in my Sonoma, saw a red light coming up, went to press the brakes, all the way to the floor with maybe 5% stopping power, let go and the pedal came back up. Luckily I had time to use the old e-brake.
Anyways, when I got to work one of my customers came in to sign some paperwork so I couldn't mess with it right away. About an hour ago I pulled the truck into the shop and started working on it, I figured I'd try to bleed the system. Tried on the drivers front, no fluid would even come through, but the passenger side was fine.
My first thought, along with all the mechanics (boat mechanics), was that the caliper was bad. Now I just got off the phone with my dad, and he thinks master cylinder. He said that I need to check the rear left drum, if no fluid comes through that, then bad master cylinder.
Anyone have any other thoughts, the truck is up here to stay until it'* fixed, I'm going to get the Z28 on my lunch break.

sounds like the master cylinder. I've had that happen many a time years ago. It is quite the ride when you are manuevering through downtown Chicago with no brakes

If one side goes bad then the caliper will hang up and hold you back
All wheels is typically the master cylinder. The evil thing about these critters is that they don't always act consistently.
Usually pumping will ensure you stop each time.

Well I just pulled the back wheels and tried to bleed, the back passenger side was fine just like the front passenger.
The front driver won't pump any fluid through, not even a drop. The back driver is just squirting a tad, no where near what it should.
I hate crap like this.

Yeah, needs a new master. At least I'll have something to do at work tomorrow, this place is usually a ghost town on Saturdays.

Don't plan on it taking too long. And measure the length of the master cylinder before you go to get one.
FakeCanadian and I found out the measure thing the hard way.
After that..don't plan on it taking you more than an hour.
