Those are some amazing pics Bandit! So far, three deaths have been attributed to the storm: 2 in traffic accidents and 1 got hit in the head with a tree limb. They are saying it will take up to a week to restore power to everyone. Travel bans are stil in place in many of the areas. People were trapped on the interstate for up to 12 hours last night.
I live between Buffalo & Niagara Falls. Niagara Falls was pretty much untouched while we got maybe 6 inches & Buffalo got nailed with 1-2 feet. We just went for a drive around town & it'* a real mess. The damage is a lot worse than it would have been a month from now because the trees still have 90% of their leaves. The weight of the snow sticking to the leaves was just too much for the older trees. Neighborhoods that are 25 years old don't look too bad compared with neighborhoods that are at least 50 years old. You just can't imagine the damage to the trees in the areas with 100 year old homes. Buffalo must be a real mess with the higher percentage of older trees & 3 or 4 times as much snow.
I'm sure it'll be at least a week before all power is restored. It'll take months to get all the tree limbs cleaned up.
