Ok no joke, gotta do it
Ok, I've been wanting to loose weight for awhile now. But from alot of family issues and everything it wasn't possible for me to do it. Now that everything is cleared up and situated I'm going be able to do it. Its hard for me to loose weight so I'm wondering if anyone of you guys out there have any good ideas on how to loose weight. I'm going to be watching my foods ( only 3 meals a day, snacks are allowed but only fruit ), running, exercising. The only problem with running with me is, I blew my knee out in football couple years ago, I got a ACL replacement and my miniscus? ( can't spell ) was competely gone but luckly the cells are making a new one! ( extremely rare, I'm the 2nd from my area, and first for my doctor ), so running with me isn't hard, its just I can't run a long time for a long period without stopping due to my knee starts to feel little weird. So I will be running jogging and walking.
But if you guys have any ideas please give.

Break those 3 meals into 5 meals a day.
Walk, don't run.
Reward yourself, non-food-wise obviously, for every 10 lbs you loose.
Get a full length mirror and look at yourself daily.

I think it would help by stating your weight and target weight. I never had to lose weight but I keep in shape by going to the local fitness club 3 days a week when school is in session. My workout session usually lasts about 1.5-2 hrs. When not in school I go everyday with 1-1.5 hr. workouts. Remember NO SODA whatsoever, only water, tea, and juice. None of those really sugary juices either. If you workout for a couple months and see no weight change, remember that you are gaining muscle as you lose fat. You will probably want to make your goal a certain waste size or something. This way you know if your workout is working, even if the lbs. aren't falling off. Good luck.

Yea thats one thing I don't have to worry about is Soda, I am one who isn't that big of a fan of soda, I mean I will drink it but only certain kinds but even that its not my choice. I'm BIG on Tea, and cranberry juice...water is boring but I drink it once in a while.

if you have bad joints, join a gym and use the ellipticals... less impact and in fact a better work out than any running/jogging session you could ever do

And if you're one of those guys that can't stand watching a wall while you're running on that elliptical, get yourself a mountain bike. It'll be easier on the knee, although it will take more time per day to get the same amount of exercise.
I'm getting one this spring. Planning on getting something similar to my old Trek 800 Sport. Basic, unsuspended bike. Might get a front shock fork, but I doubt it.
BTW, Make sure it'* at least an 18spd. They don't make many now that are less than that, but the more gears, the better.
