Default FedEx sucks

I hate when things get shipped to me via FedEx, as tracking is never up to date on the packages, and most of the time they require a signature and I don't get my things because I am not home and it has to be redelivered.

Well once again I didn't have the option to avoid them. This time I bought a new TV for the bedroom and have been tracking it and it is "supposed" to arrive tomorrow and I know for a fact that I need to sign for it when it does come. Well the last update to the shipping was it departing New Jersey on the 12th! So what has been going on with it the last 3 days? Now I am not sure if I need to be here tomorrow or not, as who knows if it is coming, being I have no idea where it is, and calling them gave me the same results...really that is kind of ridiculous that the tracking is 3 days behind..heck even the post office has better/more reliable tracking.

FedEx is always delivered here late morning... so arranging my jobs this week in order to go to work a few hours later than normal tomorrow is not an issue, but I am not going to wait around and have it not show up, when I could be getting work done, or leave right before it does show, only to have a note left for me that they will try again the next day to deliver it.

I never have any of these issues with UPS, and the drivers never have an issue with leaving things at my door...I live in a gated community so it is not an issue to leave something at the door.

Not sure if anyone else has ever had issues with them..but if you ship something or buy something and you have an option of who to go with...I'd recommend always avoiding FedEx.

Has anyone tried leaving a note and been successful in getting them to leave it? I think I might try that if it comes down to it...having a TV sit by my door all day isn't ideal, which is why I am trying to be home for the delivery, but it might be my only option.

Ok, done venting..I feel better now

I've always been successful with leaving a printed note with name, date, tracking # and signature. Never had a problem with FedEx or UPS.
BIG BOLD LETTERS FEDEX
I, stateyourname authorize to leave package tracking# on my front porch.

Sign and Date.

Then tape to front of door.

Never been a fan of FedEx. UPS has good tracking. I find USPS tracking to suck big time.

ya i have to be home for fed ex tomorrow as well. it sucks i need the money but i also need whats in the boxes. they have an option on their website after you input your tracking # if you scroll down there is an option for them to hold at fed ex location for pick up. problem with that is ya get it after the expected delivery date which is just as annoying as having the stupid sticker on your door. why can't they just leave it there when it first gets off the stupid terminal truck? idiots!

and i'd feel better if ya updated your siggy with the new *** end of your car LOL

I think I am gonna try the note like Mike suggested, that way I can get work done and hopefully come home to a new TV.

As for that picture, I only wish my UPS delivery person looked like that!!! I would be home for every delivery..screw work lol Not to mention I would be ordering a lot more items, just because I obviously would then NEED those items.

Ya I read somewhere that they have to at least attempt to deliver the package, before you can pick it up..which if the recipient is requesting to pick it up, is just stupid. Costs them gas, time, money to go through the hassle, but apparently that doesn't matter..might not be for all shipments, but I read that somewhere.

I'd feel better if my siggy was updated too...It'* just not right to hide an *** like she has now, and pretend she still looks like what I show in my signature..I gotta get some pictures. Getting married next weekend so been busy lately, but I will get right on that and try to get it updated before the weekend.

Ok left a slip on the door stating I authorize them to leave package #----- at my front door, signed and dated it.

It better be there when I get home from work!
