Pontiac G6 Coupe (V6)
Okay, so I got the news yesterday that in addition to the LIM problem I have various other problems with the motor including but not limited to needing a new supercharger. How thats possible I don't know, but apparently its true. So I think its time I thought about getting a new ride. I have my eye on a Pontiac G6 coupe. The link to the site listing it is below. Anyone have any thoughts about this vehicle? I don't know much about it at all. Your input is appreciated.

Holy long link, you know you can cut it off after the car =id number and it'll still work
BTW, I drove a G6 coupe. rear room aren't plentiful and the trunk is good sized. However, the seats are extremely hard and painful IMO, course that was in a G6 GTP coupe so the seats may differ.
but overall, a handsome car!

I own a 2006 G6 GTP coupe, although I never get to drive it (wifey'* car). It has 18k on it, and so far no problems......period. Build quality is high in my opinion. Mine has the 240hp 3.9L which is the same as the SSEi, (horse power that is), but the car doesn't have the acceleration like my bonnie has. The car your looking at probably has the 3.5L rated at 201hp. The car gets lots of looks and is fun to drive and has a good sporty ride (I like the manushift auto feature). Gas mileage on ours is the SAME as the Ei.....about 20-25 mpg combined. Mine cost me $35k brand new so your deal is fair. Good luck with your search.....but if it were me I'd fix the Ei instead..........I have the choice..............and I drive the SSEi!

I'd want to know what is wrong with the supercharger that it needs replacement. Do they want to replace the whole thing due to a noisy coupler. Find out what is truly wrong before making a decision.

On top of that I was doing some math, and adding up my expenses since I bought it (Sep '06) it averages out to approximately $390.00/month. Plus I have to add in all the money I've lost of paying for rentals and losing time at work/school due to car trouble.
The sad part is a really love this car. its been a real treat to have it despite the trouble. If I lived near other members who were more knowledgeable about DIY it might not be that big a deal, but unfortunately I don't.
I'm going to take it to at least one other shop to get a second opinion, but frankly a tough choice might have to be made one way or the other.
