My new ride
Just got home about an hour or so ago. I bought an '89 Blazer today. I owned an '85 before and sold it back in 2004. I sold it because I was engaged and was going to get married soon. I was trying to do the responsible thing. Problem is, I broke up with my ex before the wedding, and I missed my old truck ever since. (Not my ex though)
So, a friend of mine saw this one for sale in a local car magazine. So, that was it, I had to look into it. So, today I met the owner, took it for a spin with a buddy, and I bought it. A nice St. Patty'* gift to myself.
The running boards have to come off, along with the bug guard. They're ugly as sin. It has some rust I will take care of soon, but nothing bad. I also have a set of 33x12.50'* lined up. This is gonna be my beater/for fun vehicle (like my last one was). So, don't worry, I'm not selling the Bonneville.
Here'* a quick shot I took from my balcony:

I've always had a soft spot for the full size Blazers and Broncos. Gotta love when SUVs were SUVs, and not glorified station wagons.
Nice find!!

It has a 350 with 3.90 gears. And, yeah, I too miss the days of the 'real' SUV'*.
My buddy (the guy that went with me) has a '77 Bronco. He'* done a lot of work on his, and we have some plans for mine. Nothing insane or over the top.

The old owner lives in Springfield, Minnesota. It even has Minnesota plates. So, yeah it has rust on the rockers under the doors. Just like my old one did. That'* where the worst of it is. It'll probably be a pain to fix, but we'll get it done.

That makes me miss my old Bronco.
Used to drive it around with the top off... A giant Mr. Potato head seatbelted into the rear between my two kids... man the looks people would give us.
Love the old ones, only thing better than those are the earlier ones cause the whole top came off.
Does it have a sister ???
