Repost...that thread went on for awhile with people arguing each side...I've never been sure which side is entirely right. STILL. But it'* worth a shot

I only get gas on Sun, Mon, and sometimes Teus. On those days the gas is $1.62 to $1.64 a gallon. On all the days I didnt mention its usually between $1.76- &1.80 a gallon and people still flock to the station on those days?!? Why? :?

That email has been circulating for years now and by now if it was gonna work it would have.

It hasn't, so I guess that kind of tells you something.

In this case it is not the taxes on fuel ( high up here in Canada) but the actually cost of oil that is making the prices everywhere go up. YET as soon as the price goes up per barrel gas jumps but when the price per barrel drops it takes forever for gas to drop. I KNOW they are still screwing us at the pumps everywhere ( U.*. and Canada).

Because people are impatient, and our society abuses credit cards. I know exactly what you mean though... I am a total cheapskate, and will do pretty much anything to save a few pennies!

If I absolutely *must* buy gas when it is really expensive, I only put $5 or so in...just enough to get by for a day or two. I'll do that as long as necessary, as the prices come down a few cents each day... then I fill up when I think the price is at its lowest, right before it spikes back up 10-20 cents/gallon (based on past observation of local price trends). Works like a charm most of the time... I filled up earlier today at $1.66, and now every place in town is at $1.79!
