Ebay...
I was just sitting here thinking about how much time we all probably end up spending on eBay. So out of this musings, I began to wonder what everyone else buys and what are the most popular items between a group such as ourselves? (sorry if this is a repost of a past time).
I myself usually go for electronics-I've bought two MP3 players (a Rio 600, then a Rio Chiba to replace it when it got too small) and most recently (as in I'm still waiting for it to come in the mail) I bought a TI 84 plus for future math/science classes.
I've also bid on and won CDs and season DVDs.
So how about you all?

Mostly car stuff.
Tires, headlamp assembly, ELC sensor
Electronics
Digital Camera
I use Ebay mostly for looking at tires, since Ebay.ca is not as big as Ebay.com, shipping costs usually discourgage me from using the online auction site.
Oh and I use Buy It Now only...I dont like auctioning.

But come on, auctioning is the best!! I don't really use ebay'* proxy bid feature (I mean that'* implied in any bid but, yeah) I'm that evil person who only looks at an item when I know I'm going to be around a computer, then I sit and wait...only to bid at the last second. It'* so fun! Only bad thing is, I get sorta competitive...then spend a little more than I should-although, like my calculator I still got for $30 less (yey!) then new despite my overzealous bidding habits.

I buy tractor parts (my father-in-law and I restore old tractors). I snoop for car parts, don't buy many. My wife uses my account to buy TONS of teacher books. They're SOOO much less expensive on ebay than in the teacher stores.
I'm with you PJ, I don't do the proxy bid either. I wait for the last second to lock in a bid.
As for big ticket items, ebay is no longer the hot place to get a deal. It'* gotten so big that the competition has gone way up and you end up paying fair market value for something anyway. :?

PDad buys electronics: computer, MP3, X-Box, stuff like that. But I buy my books on eBay. I buy really hard to find books, I collect Nora Roberts and Linda Howard and some of their books are out of print. I ususally get a really good deal for them.

I came really close to winning a 72 Lemans. it looked like it was great shape.
My high bid was 4,500 and at the last second someone outbid me.
then about an hour later I got an email telling me the high bidder backed out
and I could have the car for my price. I did a little searching around and noticed
the guys other auctions were having the same persons bidding on them.
I emailed the guy back and told him if he didnt bid on his own crap I would have baught his car. to late now sucker........
I also bid on cd'* old board games that you cant find in stores. like Michigan Rummy
great fun game with family we play for nickles
