Does the DVD play normally in your computer all the way through if you try and watch it from there?

try disabling and re-enabling the drive using device manager

if its only doing that during burning, try slowing down. Choose an 8x burn speed. My 16x & 20x burners don't like my current batch of HP DVD'* at top speed but work fine at 8x.

btw- my drives make that same noise when on max speed so maybe this is a simple fix to your problem too.
