ok, no matter what program i use i am getting read errors of some sort. I'm starting to think i have a bad DVD drive. it will read about 1/2 to 2/3 of the disc and then strat throwing errors all the time. the drive is also making some weird noise too when it does this. it revs up and then i hear like a clunk and then it slows, revs up clunk and then slows...
so what do you think? possibly a bad drive? All a have is the $35 light scribe LightOn DVD drive...

if its only doing that during burning, try slowing down. Choose an 8x burn speed. My 16x & 20x burners don't like my current batch of HP DVD'* at top speed but work fine at 8x.
btw- my drives make that same noise when on max speed so maybe this is a simple fix to your problem too.

well it never gets to the burn segment. can i slow the read speed down? that might be it...
oh, thought i might mention this. it does the same thing when i just try and do a copy paste from the DVD to my hard drive. DVD43 allows me to do that and then i could use another program to compress it if i want to. anyhow, just copy and paste causes it to throw errors.
