They have the 3400'* in some years.
It is more of a speculation at this point if I would really want one.
What are your thoughts on these cars? We will stick with the 3400 engine equipped models for sake of argument.
Are they difficult to maintain? Reliable? How fast are they compared to the 3800 series II like the bonneville or lesabre non-charged?
What would I really be getting into? My only problem is the interior doesn't look to have a lot of room.

They will keep up with N/A Bonnies with no problem. My Mom used to drive around a 2003 GA GT. It would beat my old 95 SSE.

It was reliable for the few years we had it. No problems. Just keep an eye on the intake gaskets as they tend to get leaky with higher miles.

It'* a fun car that handles pretty decent. It'* small, but not terribly small.

I've always liked the GA'*. Like Sol said, watch for the leaky intakes, but besides that they don't seem to have to many problems.

my friend had a 2004 SE2 and it was slower then a S2 NA.
Oil change is kinda easy. the filter is right next to the Starter and if you use a Oil filter wrench on it, it will ZAP! you


Other then that. it seemed to be a nice car

They are a fun car. 0-60 in about 7.7-7.9 seconds. But yeah, watch the LIM gaskets, they are a chore to replace also, but nothing extravagant. Just involves removing the pushrods.

The 3400 is a little more prone to head gasket failures, also. The Grand Ams generally did terrible in side impact tests.

Yeah well, neither did 87-99 Bonnevilles either. 2-3 star for side on those. But 4 star for 00-05

My dad had an 03 GT as a company car for a while. It looked pretty sharp with the chrom rims and the dark green paint. The motor was alright, kinda noisey though as I recall. If leg room is a consideration then be fore warned. I'm 6'2 and any trip over 20 mins. became uncomfortable. Also, I'm not sure which year it was that they changed the sideview mirrors, but in the older ones that don't fold, they tend to break off very easily.
