Looks like an ape skull or something similar stuffed in a dead fish. If you read the Q&A at the bottom, he tiptoes around it, but it'* something along those lines.

Q: Why don't you sell it to a museum... if it is real like you say it is, then it would get you thousands of dollars $$$$$?
Jun-05-06
A: Museums are welcome to bid. This is a one of a kind. Your right it is worth thousands of dollars$$$$$$
Q: You seem to have a lot of luck with finding these monsters and mutants on your beach, whats your secret
Jun-05-06
A: I am friends of the Mers, in fact they call me Lord of the Mermaids.
Q: very creative... According to an expert this fish is not real, so where did you get all of the 100% real parts from?
Jun-05-06
A: The skin of this creature is 100% authentic, once living fish skin. Your expert is wrong.
Q: Im in Lakeland. Do you have a store in Tampa somewhere where I can see more of your work?? This stuff is way cool.
Jun-05-06
A: Thank you for the kind words...this is just the tip of the iceberg, if I had the financial backing I could create a Museum of Mermaids & Sea Monsters...more
Q: ur auctions obviously are not real fishes, yet you say they are. they'd be worth a lot more than a few hundred bucks on ebay if they were real.
Jun-04-06
A: the fish skin, includying all fins, are real. 100%, once living organic fish skin. The teeth, the jaw bone and the skull are also 100% real, once living...more

This guy should work for Hollywood. Im pretty positive that this guy makes these things from real fish parts and bones.
I highly doubt something that old would wash up on shore like that. I mean dead fish rot or get consumed by other sea creatures, not mummified and in near pefect shape.
This guy is BS. Creative, but BS.

Look at his feedback and past auctions; he has sold lots of these weird fishes before.
Check out his other completed auctions.

Obviously a talented taxidermist...and yeah, the parts are all real...just not from the same species.
Many people would be interested in owning these freak/fantasy creations just because they are so wierd. For those that believe these were once real live creatures as is, there'* professonal help available...
