Wow.... what a bike ride..my new diet..
So, I started a diet 3 weeks ago, my goal is 160-170. When I started I weighed 265lbs, and now I am down to 255, as of this morning. So, I decided last night "I am gonna go buy a bike!" So you know... I haven't ridden a bike in 5 years, just stopped riding when my bike broke. So I bought one last night.
This morning I decide I am gonna go do a 2 mile bike ride.......Let'* put it this way, getting on a bike after 5 years and doing 2 miles? Not exactly a good idea. It made me sick to my stomach, my body aches, and I was dizzy. The good part? I didn't wimp out and turn around to go back home. I completed the whole 2 miles, and came home. I guess motivation really does help!
I pretty much have no choice to go on this diet. My doctor told me I am morbidly obese, and need to lose around 100lbs, or I face a heart attack. He explained to me that the fat is surrounding my heart, and is eventually going to kill me if I don't lose weight. Needless to say I motivated myself, and now I am really truly on a diet. I have completely cut out red meat, and only eat fish and poultry now, reasonably of course. I no longer eat junk food, nor do I get burgers, fries, etc at Wendy'*. I eat a sensible amount of food a day that consists of 1-2 Slim Fasts, a lunch generally consisting of a small turkey wrap, celery, carrots, and a water. And for dinner is also reasonable, usually something like chicken or baked fish.
Hopefully this dieting works. I am utterly sick of being fat, walking is even hard. :(

Good to see you taking your health seriously! In the end, its all we have.
I gotta start losing weight as well...25 lbs is my target, and go figure someone stole my bike last fall, so, my favourite physical activity was taken from me.
Keep up and stay on target!

Oh yeah... one of the worst parts before I was on a diet is that I was a heavy pop drinker, upwards of 1-2 12 packs of day, which mostly consisted of Coke. The only pop I drink now is the Diet Coke with the Splenda, as I hear Aspartame can actually make you fat, don't know how true that is... Either way, I drink mostly water now.
Let'* see... my daily food intake used to consist of -
3 bowls of cereal for breakfast...yes 3.
2 Stack Attacks, a large fry and a pop from Wendy'*, or something similar.
Lots of junk food inbetween everything.
And dinner usually consisted of something or another high fat.
Cutting down really helps, my stomach has shrunk, and I no longer feel hungry all the time.

Exactly. I hate when people complain about reaching their goal weight, then gaining it all back because they went back to their original eating pattern, stopped exercising , etc. I plan to change the way I eat and everything for good. It'* just not good for me to overeat.

Awesome job man, keep it up, dont get discouraged when you plateau for a while. It will come off eventually.
It also sounds like you are doing it the healthy way, 2-3 lbs a week is the way it should be, those diets that say lose 10lbs in 10days are actually really unhealthy.

Good luck with everything, it sounds like you are on the right track. I need to get back to the gym as well. I only weigh 150lbs(actually trying to gain weight) but I am beginning to get out of shape and losing the muscle that I had. I hate how I feel when I haven't been to the gym in a couple weeks.

In about 2 weeks, I'll probably start going everyday, then about 2 weeks after that I'll make the ride longer. I can get creative with the area I live in. Plenty of streets to weave in and out of. The trail is only 1.4 miles total, but the ride there from my house is about a 1/2 mile.
