Discussion: Pontiac G6
I have a secret fascination with them. But let'* have a discussion....
Are they girly? If so, why?
Is any of their models girly (sedan, coupe, hardtop convertible) Why?
V6, GT, GTP? Why?
I don't think the G6 is girly, it'* just a nice car for everyone. I've sat in one and I really like them. But of course I like the sedan the best. Now as you will recall, the sedan, you can get a I-4 (base model), a 3.5 V6 (the V6 model), 3.9. V6 (GT model), and the 3.6 V6 (GTP model). For me, I would take either a GT or GTP, the GT has a bit more grunt than the GTP but the GTP will probably be quicker. I've never drove a GT or a GTP before, I'm just going by what people have said in magazines. However I would like the GTP when they came with a 3.9 instead of a 3.6 since they run in the mid 6'* to 60 mph.
I think if I could option mine, it would be a G6 GTP sedan in silver with black leather, moonroof (not the four pane one) some nice amenties and a auto tranny. Car and Driver reported that the six speed is rubbery and long shifts so that turns me off.

this past summer I got a close up look at the hard top convertible with
its top down, I so wanted to jump in and take it for a spin.
I give the HTC a thumbs up.
it was black on black

I like them too. Everyone says that they are a girly car because they are the new equivelent to the Grand am, but I don't think so. the G6 is a nice, lower cost performance sedan/coupe. I myself would like to have the GTP coupe with a 6 speed stick. even though the trans has long shifts, i would get a short throw shifter and fix that.

I've been behind the wheel and driven a g6 GTP (friend got one as a rental after a deer played a game of chicken with his 350z) but anyway I have to say I was impressed not only by the interior which was nice but the engine also had plenty of pep. I would defintly consider it if I had the chance to buy one

Coupe GTP with the six-speed in BLACK. and only in BLACK, haha. It'* pretty cool; a good alternative to some of the rice rockets out there. Pinky hit the nail on the head, though: The tranny sucks.

Um......allow me to chime in here........Fuel, my wife is the proud owner of an 06 GTP 2-door coupe and loves it! I've had it out and used all 240hp once or twice. It has the manu-auto shifter which is nice when one wants to downshift instead of brake, or pass. It turns a lot of heads on the road and in the parking lots. I don't think the GXP style 18" rims make it a "girly" car by any means. The 3.9L 240 hp, 240lbs/ft doesn't either. The coupe does have a lot of rear blind spots...my wife wants a rear camera. There is no 275hp motor available by the way or a GXP trim level (top level trim is GTP). The convertible is a de-tuned 227hp engine, while our coupe has 240hp. 1/4 mile times in Car and Driver has it at 14.9 seconds. That'* quicker that my "stock" 2000 ssei. Oh and by the way if you get the convertible, buy the extended warranty, that top mechanism costs $7000 alone if it needs to be replaced!!!!
I do prefer to drive the Bonney, but when I do get to drive the GTP (not very often mind you) I love whipping around town with that manu-matic.
