Default Dodge Stratus engine light help

Is this a simple question?
2002 Dodge Stratus 2.7 L 24 valve...Wifes car....
Engine light came on. I went to Checker Auto and they pulled a code of PO455 which they said had to do with the fuel system evap something or another. Most likely a gas cap.
Sure enough the gas cap was not tightened. I tightened it, but the engine light is not shutting off. Will it eventually shut off? Or could something else be wrong because of the cap being loose?
She has no idea how the cap came loose like that. It'* been a while since she fueled up.

BTW I changed the air filter (Fram was all they had....Don't shoot me) and it was $17.99..."Holy cheap air filter Batman!"

Go back up there and have them reset the light to turn it off, or remove the negative battery cable attached to the shock tower. But note if you remove the battery cable, you will lose your time and radio presets.

it may also be a bad gas cap if the light comes back on after resetting it

Lose time? I would hate to lose time....and station presets.....
It'* OK, not my car

I told her I can find an answer for her in no time....this place is great
appreciate it

See the Fuse and relay center on the right? Its right on the shock tower behind that, it is clearly marked.

Shock tower = more often referred to as the strut tower.

The Stratus/Sebring have remote battery connections as the battery is in front of the wheel well.

excellent...I was thinking I had to go into the wheel well to remove the battery cable. I knew the remote location was there, but I was thinking the battery would still need to be disconnected from the posts on the battery for it to be considered "disconnected"
I didn't think disconnecting it from the remote location would act the same as disconnecting it from the battery......
Am I talking in circles?

Is this something an auto parts store would have? I would assume I want to get the correct one for the Dodge, or else i could be in a world of trouble. I have heard of gas tanks getting crushed because of an incorrect gas cap.

Auto part stores should have the right one. I know they at least have locking gas caps which is what I've gotten for all my cars.
