I'd be curious to see what kind of software that they use to get in your computer and see what is going on. I had a Cisco instructor who said they should have stopped music sharing here about 6 years ago when it first started.

Thats why a router behind the cable modem and a firewall on each computer is in order. I buy all my music now, unless its something that I can't find on Napster.

EDIT

I forgot to say that the RIAA (as I understand it) pays the people who make the P2P software to add their spy software. WTF. I haer Kazaa is real bad for that.

That'* why people are starting to shy away from kazaa. I stopped using it a long time ago.

All I've ever used are the newsgroups. It would be possible to track those as well, but probably harder

Local Authorities may have to take possesion of a computer to view a hard drive but I have no doubt the Feds dont have to and can do as they please with one regardless of what you may think you are doing to protect yourself. They can put a missle in your bedroom, actually hear conversations in your house at will and have technology that isnt even available or known about in the private sector..... I.e. for every self appointed computer whiz, they have people gathered that are that much smarter than you.The internet is no longer the anominous bastion that people once thought it was. I just use the policy of keeping my electronic butt clean.
