old truck
We went working on my uncle'* truck yesterday. It'* a 67 Ford F100 shortbox. It has an inline 6 cylinder with a three on the tree. He bought it from a friend of ours, whose son had it took away from him. We had to gloat yesterday because he came out of the house right as we got there. Within 2 hours we drove the truck up the road and back. It'* still getting a little lifter tick, and the t*stat is stuck open, plus the speedo doesn't work, but otherwise it runs slick as a button. Starts up first lick, even after sitting for better than a year.

That babys got some torque to it too. They even used that engine in tractors and in the early 90'* (late 80'*) the F series trucks that used that engine had a granny gear that pull some mean stumps rightout.
It often goes 300k+ with never a problem.

I've alway envisioned a late 70'* Ford F100 Ranger regular cab/longbed dragging frame while being powered by a tweaked "modern" EFI 300 I-6 with a five speed. The rims would be thick spoked rims and the body painted in a gorgeous deep black with chrome trim and leather interior....
