My sister'* bu is acting up
My little sis has a 98 malibu. Her theft light comes on every once and a while. This morning, it came on when she was driving to work (?) Not really sure how that happens. It didn't seem to do anything. She was still able to drive that car. Any guesses on what could be causing this. The last time I had a retardo car like that (a saturn) I ended up having to replace the pcm.

Did a little research and found a cure that is suppose to work. Leave the key on acsessory for 10 minutes and it will go out and stat out. Some others with the same problem have had the car not crank untill thus procedure was preformed. Tell her "good luck". This car has an amazing amount of electrical/computer problems.

Yeah, what he said lol. My neighbor has a 98 Malibu and I think he has the same problem...let us know if Venom'* suggested method works, I might be able to go over and fix his problem!
My mechanic (the one that does the work I can't...) is across the street from my office...I saw the same Malibu in his garage for 8 business days, while they traced an electrical problem. I couldn't believe it! Just think of how much money that would cost!
Good luck though, hope you get it fixed!
