Congratulations! I remember reading this when it was first started. I even forgot it was here! Once you figure out this lien process, please tell us where to find out more about it. I love it!

Finally! Some near-closure!
Nicely done, Pete... He got what was coming to him, hopefully you can get the money sooner than later. Good luck!

This reminds me of a case I won. I had to garnish her wages, but she quit her job (strike one), I had to go after her vehicle, but it was in her boyfriends name (strike two).
Her house? she was renting. (strike three), I gave up after that. It was a long process for all of this. two years.
good luck. dont give up

Ooooh, yes. Absolutely. Make sure to point out all the cases he'* lost and failed to pay off...
BTW, if he fails to pay off according to schedule, you can ask the judge to find him in contempt of court...a night or two in jail oughtta convince him you're serious...

I would LOVE to do a follow-up on this with the news. I wish I could have the same reporter too (Brandon Rudat left NBC30). Maybe I'll try to do that. I am thinking of writing to the AG again too, bringing up the numerous cases he has lost and failed to reconcile in hopes the AG will investigate him or shut him down if possible.
When I wrote to the AG the FIRST time I was replied to basically saying they couldn't help me because the contract didn't say anything about him not being able to use the car for personal use....which I thought was BS. So maybe they'll be surprised that I actually took him to court and won.

Congrats on the court victory, even if it was uncontested.
I love the idea of putting a lien on every car in the lot. Even better if you looked up his other court losses and suggested that they do the same.
Keep up the good work! Make him loathe the day he ever decided to sell cars for a living.
