I have NO Doubt Jr. and Bud will stay together. Would be a very bad move for both of them to split ways.

As of right now he is leaving DEI but not really. He (Dale Jr) is still a part owner. And as huge of a fan that I am. Teresa is being greedy not once has she said no for another reason other then money to her it'* not a life it'* a paycheck. If Big E was still around we would have never herd of negotiations or contracts and DEI would likely have a championship right now. Dale Is gone and things are the way they are who are we to judge. We are fans and some of us have been fans for a long time and envisioned Dales dream of DEI "Dale Earnhardt Inc" was built to win and built for Kelly Dale Jr and Kerry Not Teresa. From all of this I see a Merger between Jr Motorsports and RCR, Do I think Jr will drive a Jr MotorSports car ... No because for Jr MotorSports to go cup racing he would have to sell his stakes in DEI (remember the 4 car rule) DEI has plans to add a 4th car to there stable of 3 right now so if that happens Jr MotorSports will not go cup racing unless Dale sells.

The best thing in my opinion would be to not place any bets until he signs with another team because once Teresa figures out how much she is going to lose compared to what it would cost to give up 10% ownership to the kids she may come around then You Might see the long awaited merger between DEI and RCR..

just my 2 cents

Dale Jr. is NOT part owner in DEI. He owns not one thin dime of it.

He is sole owner of JR Motorsports.

Well, Gibbs is out:

"But Earnhardt'* car sponsor, Budweiser, could prevent a marriage with Gibbs from happening. The Gibbs organization, whose owner Joe Gibbs is an ardent Christian, is clearly reticent about bringing an alcohol sponsor on board. Even if Budweiser doesn't follow Earnhardt to his new team, the driver has a personal services agreement with the beer company through next year." www.nascar.com

Interesting...should have known that.
I was just thinking him and Smoke would be good team mates.
Still thinking he'* going to go with his own company with Hendricks motors, maybe to Childress in the 3 after hes won a few championships...and, yes Will, I think he will win some.

I remember a quote that came up last year when the rumors about this started to fly. When another driver, I think Tony Stewart, but I'm not sure, was asked what DEI would be like without Dale Jr., his response was "a museum". That still makes me laugh. Darell Waltrup said that Dale Sr. said that he was building DEI for his son, so WTF, why not give him at least 1/2.

Hendrick has an opportunity to drop Casey Mears, who is having yet another crappy season. That would open a seat, but I agree the Gordon/Junior combination would be bad with the fans. And fans are money.

I don't think Jr. is ready to be an owner/driver. Historically, it'* very difficult to be truly competitive, and he knows this. That'* why his own Father didn't drive for his own team.

I read a sports analyst who stated DEI should curl up in the fetal position and suck it'* thumb.

Ginn racing is in the ring. And they're doing VERY well this season. They already run with Hendrick support. They also don't have a 'Kevin Harvick' personality on board. Junior would fit well, but does he feel they're strong enough to put him in a competitive team/car?

I'd say it'* 80% RCR, 15% Ginn, 5% JR Motorsports expansion (which would open the door for Martin Truex Jr. to follow him at the end of his contract also).

He won't. He told Darrel Waltrip last week that number was Dad'*. He doesn't feel he would 'fit' that car until much later in his career.
