Cue Haul takes a WIN !- NEW Video!! ...NO 56K
After I left Bill'* in Corvallis, I headed over to Shadd'* (Chadow427) in Royal City, WA just outside of Moses Lake, WA to see more country side.
I was a great drive thru the mountains and hill sides across the Columbia River.
The Jeep performed like a champ and topped out the fastest I ever had it going at 185. That'* kilonometers.
I can easily see how he hits all of his speed records out here. The roads are fantastic, long and straight and the mountain runs leading here are long sweeping and banked. In Frucking Credible Bill you would love it.
Today Shadd organized a Truck sled pull event. We had a good turnout with about 15 trucks in three classes. Stock, modified and super modified.
I have video and pics but my battery is dead now and I forgot my charger at Bill'* house.
Later whenever Bill sends it back to me.......courier, next day. hint , hint, Bill.
Shadd won 1st place in the stock class.
We had been up late the night before the Pull event installing an exhaust gas temp gauge and boost gauge on his new pillar pod. By the time I arrived he had alread installed the new air intake and exhaust.
The really good news is he broke even on the event, after paying for the insurance and all the rentals. That even included the cost of his truck mods. Not bad for a fun filled day.
Some of the trucks were awesome.
This is truck country. He lives in farmland.
I couldn't believe the size of his garage. It'* huge. He has so much equipment on his property, it'* a gearheads dream.
Leaving tomorrow to visit with DriverJohn in Ellensburg, WA
Oh, and today Shadd finally got his wireless network hooked up. :P
Now all he needs is a laptop.

Yeah, I was really freakin' out over whether people were gonna show up or not, but it turned out to be pretty good! I was running around like a chicken with my head chopped off, but Paul got some really good video, so there should be something to see!

It was my first time also.
Before this I had been thinking about buying a new truck with a V8 gas engine.
NOW.....
TURBO DIESEL. FTW
It'* definitely the way to go.
Shadd'* truck was only making about 25 psi boost but there were some trucks there that were making 45 psi.
Haulers, Monster, Regular 250'* and 350'*, Tow trucks, Freightliners.......all types.
I think I have a couple of teaser pics I'll try and download right now...

OK here are some pics I took on my little camera. All the video is locked in my DV tape Cam that'* dead until Bill sends me my charger. Shadd did borrow the tape and copied it onto a cassette for his family. We all watched it last night.
He has an awesome family with 6 bro'* and sis'*.
The day before the event we had to get everything ready. Shadd was a bundle of nerves. I kept feeding him Monsters just to calm his worries, He had a nightmare that only 3 trucks were going to show because he had invested a pile of cash in the event.
The track was level and packed with clay.

We went to pick up the bleachers for the spectators at the local high school. The car trailer he had prearranged was gone so he managed to contact a friend and borrowed a hauler.......with a Wing on the hood to transport.

It'* not a big town so we aroused some suspision from the local Sherrif.
We told him it was a Bonne meet so he left us alone.
After that was done, it was getting late so we headed back to Shadd'* garage to do some mods to CueHaul.

There'* a Turbo in there.
I told you his garage was huge.....

Bill, you would be in heaven in this place. You HAVE to visit.

Makes Rod'* intake look small. :P
Oct19-07Oregon035.jpg
Makes my exhaust look small.
Oct19-07Oregon036.jpg
We got it all done before midnight.
The SLED An engineous homemade device.
Oct20-07Washington001.jpg
Digital footage readout.
Oct20-07Washington002.jpg
Setting up the announcers booth.
Oct20-07Washington007.jpg
Takin home the trophy.
Oct20-07Washington009.jpg
Then we had to clean up and bring everything back.
Oct20-07Washington010.jpg
It was a full day.
We watched Transformers with the family on the projection TV.
It was definitely a highlight of my vacation.
Thanks to the Shadd Forrester and especially Shadds mom and dad Kennon and Paula for all the hospitality.

Alright, Shadd...you have to let me know when the next one happens. Get a big block V8 in there...I'm very interested to see what it can do. Congratulations on the win!
