I was the one who flew past the guy i work with (just got his license a week before this) in his dads brand new VR6.
THey do hold their value well, too well if you are looking for buying one. Cheapest jetta i could find in good shape with the options i wanted was about $8k.

I want another classic Bug. That was probably the most fun I ever had with a car, driving and working on it.
Problem is, they are truly classics now, and to get your hands on one in MN that'* in decent shape takes it out of the hobby price range!
