The michigan State Boys had a the Rustangs for a while and Cheverolet wanted a piece of that action so they gave a camaro with a 502 crate motor to the Paw Paw, Mi barracks. It had limited slip and was just a bit too much for the patrollmen. It was wrecked three times in less than a year. Needless to say, Michigan didn't order any. Too much power in wet/snowy conditions. Only one wreck occurred in wet/snowy conditions--but it was getting too expensive to repair the cars and the officers. I think one of them died. They also ran Jeep Cherokee Classics, Crown Vics, Caprice Classics, and Tahoe/Suburbans.

....and speaking of cop cars....starting in '05 all of the 'fire-bomb' Crown Vic Police Cruisers are getting a fire-bottle/nozzle active fire suppression gas/foam system that activate when the cars get slammed in the ***,......looked pretty slick on the TV news story I saw on them.,.....the bad news, the 350,000 Crown Vics now in service can't be retrofitted with them(according to Ford),whole system is incorporated into a new onboard computer system that operates/controls them
