What would you have done??

Last night my wife were awakened at 3 o'clock in the morning by a loud pounding on the door. I got up and answered the door where a drunken stranger, standing in the pouring rain, asked me for a push.

"Not a chance," I said. "It'* 3 o'clock in the damn morning."

I slammed the door and returned to bed, grumbling. "Who was that?" asked my wife.

"Just some drunk guy asking for a push!" I answered.

"Did you help him?" she asked.

"No, I did not. It is 3 o'clock in the freakin' morning and it is pouring rain outside!"

My wife said ('cause she'* like that at times), "Can't you remember about three months ago when we broke down and those two guys helped us? You should be ashamed of yourself! I think you should help him!" Easy for her to say. She was all comfy in the bed and mostly asleep. I'm the one that had to get all muddy because some drunk probably slid off the road while asleep at the wheel. Arrrrrgh!!!

So, I got dressed and went out into the pouring rain. I didn't see him around, so called out into the dark, "Hey! Are you still there?"

"Yesh", came back the answer.

"Do you still need a push?" I called out.

"Yes! Please!" came the reply from the darkness.

"Where are you?" I asked, getting a bit more irritated.

"Over here on the swing!" replied the drunk.

LOL As I was reading this post it reminded me of a time where I did have to help someone out at 2am in the morning.

[Hijack]
When I was living in NH, I was woken up by the loud deisel Fire truck and ambulance that was sitting outside of my building. The lady next door was a drunk and she had managed to bang herself up pretty bad while taking a fall in the house.

I was watching from my bedroom window to see what was going on. They took the neghbor out to the ambulance and the fire truck had just pulled away. I was about to go to bed when I noticed that the ambulance driver shut the back door, got into the ambulance and left their medic bag behind. I didnt think they would take off, but they did and there was the medic bag sitting on the sidewalk.

Being the good samaritan I am, I got dressed, went outside and grabbed the bag, got into my car and drove to the local Fire department.

I rang the night bell and as the firefighter greeted me, he look dumbfounded that I was carrying in my hand a very familiar Medic bag.

I asked him "Did you just have a medic at 3 sylvestri?" He replied "yes". I told him that the Ambulance left their medic bag behind and he just started laughing and gladly grabbed the bag and thanked me for my efforts. I went back home and back to bed.

I couldnt believe that the Ambulance driver actually left the bag behind. It was funny and im sure the guys at the station had fun with it!!
