no vids on the internet using them right?

I had this problem. Uninstall everything, including codecs and such, also which browser do you use? reboot, then download all codecs and then WMP and install everything and then reboot. then test.

ok.

uninstall the following.

Mozilla Firefox

Viewpoint Media Player (if applicable)

Then select *Show Updates* at the top of that window and then uninstall the following...

Uninstall ANY and ALL that have the following in them...

Windows Media Player

Windows Media Player Runtime

Windows Media Player Hotfix

Security Update for Windows Media Player

Look carefully. Make sure you get them all.

Then Reboot.

Then CLICK HERE to install Windows Media Player 11

Then make sure that you have automatic updating set to on by going to Start>Right-Click My Computer>Go to Automatic Updates tab>Make sure its set to Automatic and then click ok!

Now reboot once again. And then go test out those vids. If it doesnt work, we have to formulate plan b.

oh and make sure you DO NOT let it restart every time you uninstall something, just click the X at the top or say DO NOT restart now. restart AFTER you have completed ALL the uninstalls, make sure you have the file downloaded and after you restart, then start the new installation.
