Go to Data Memory Systems at http://www.datamem.com and you can look up what kind of RAM your computer takes by looking it up in their database by manufacturer (HP) and your model number (you didn't mention.) -They often have the best prices, but sometimes NewEgg and TigerDirect have a lower price.

Well I know I trust Patriot memory.

I am running dual matched super low latency 512 modules from Patriot im my notebook and it has run faster than ever!

It had just the stock single 512 module in it and it ran TOO slow, So I will second that statement saying that 1024 should be the MINIMUM RUN! Unless you just like slowdowns
