Come on, you know you guys like it!
'93 Bonne SSE with a supercharger. 52k miles. Green with tan leather. new brake master cylinder, front brake pads, LR brake shoes, computer, rebuilt supercharger, etc. Aftermarket Dynamax Racing Muffler with polished Ractiv (sp?) tips. Only problems are curb rash on the RR rim, PROM chip problem (when the engine'* cold the supercharger works fine, but when it reaches operating temperature, the supercharger only puts out about a pound of boost. Weird. He said it'* been broke for a while; his wife drives the car, so he figures it will help keep her from getting hurt ) and a ding in the back that took a chip out of the taillight, Almost the exact same thing was wrong with my Bonne when I got it. He said he was quoted $150-$200 (friendly price) to fix it. He wanted $3500, but we agreed on $3000 if I decide (if I CAN is more like it) to buy. He said an old guy had it for the first 41k miles, then the guy sold it to him about a year ago for a good price because he worked at his auto repair shop. It needed a supercharger, so he put a rebuilt one in. He says his wife drives the car mainly, and he'* selling because a friend is offering him a good deal on a '99 Accord. It'* kinda crazy; the whole situation almost reminds me of the same circumstances under which I bought my current Bonnie. I said $3k is what I was looking to pay, and he pretty much said that'* as low as he had decided beforehand to let it go for. Same exact thing happened with my car: instant agreement on price. Weird. Anyway, what do you guys think? If I could only convince my mom to let me buy, it'* exactly what I was looking for. EXACTLY. Well, anybody got anything to say? Leave questions about my sanity alone until I start a topic to that effect. Thanks again for all the help, guys!

i'd check out your options.
low miliage is not always good thing on a 12 year old car.
It just seems like it was used a little hard, ie all the replaced parts and rice muffler.
If he drove it with problems like you say, that might be a bad sign.Needing a supercharger at 41K is strange.
I would say check all your choices first, I almost made similar mistake but looked around at other options.
I have learned it is all about the previous ownership and it really is.
Millage does mean nothing IMO as far as reliablity goes at least with this drivetrain.
Try to find an old grandma with one of these cars that is orginal owner and always took it to the dealer.
I have had luck buying cars from people that really are far from mechanically literate. I say find an old person because they generally are not punching it to 5K in first every time the light goes green.
I dont know that is a good price for ANY l67 in good condition with under 100K though.
Just remember the transmission might/will go on you if it has been abused very much. That will be your biggest mechanical repair on this car most likely.

Well, me and the guy shot the... poo... for about 30 minutes talking about the car. During that time, he told me why he thinks the supercharger went so early. He said that he thinks the old guy (really old, too: 72 he said) was so light on the pedal that the supercharger went bad from lack of use! I don't know, but that'* what he said he was thinking. He'* a mechanic at a repair shop, too, from what he says, and he seemed to be in the know mechanically. Anybody got any other ideas as to why some of these parts went so early? I kind of agree about the low mileage problem, though; I've always said that it'* a big problem if they let the car sit too long and didn't drive it enough. Anyway, I'd love a reply from willwren or other '93 */C owner Tell me what you guys think! And thanks for the input Hans, I appreciate it

C'mon Tam, I thought you would have remmembered me as an SSE SC'd owner *cough cough* 93... Get the car, you love it because others wont to much pay attention to the supercharged sign on the door. They will just think you have an SSE.
