Karen has been wanting a project of her own...something to take to the Turkey Runs in November. Aside from the lack of title (presumably from it being an estate vehicle and nothing has been done with it in over a decade). That'* one hell of a deal. In good shape, those cars would go for between $7000 and $10000, depending on if it is a Mach 1, Grande, etc... And being right in the middle of the muscle car era, there are all sorts of aftermarket parts available. I wouldn't worry about the title either. In most states you can file for a lost title (for a fee of course.) Even if you didn't want to keep it, you could turn around and flip it for 2G easily. Good find man.

I've already been pricing them on ebay, that and seeing what parts are available.
If this is going to be a fix-her-upper, it will be heavilly modernized (fuel injection, overdrive) so it can be driveable in todays fuel world and not put a huge hurting on the wallet. I also realize that these are by fat the heaviest of them all, so I am going to chose wisely on powerplant options. I'll need something with lots of bottom-end for sure.

I just got off the phone with the woman selling the car (she is the type that doesn't know what she'* got). It aint a 73. or a 72.

Not worth the 900 she has listed....maybe only 400 if it can be made to run. But a newer drivetrain swap would make that car so much more fun to drive.

1. The "muscle car era" ended in 1974.
2. 1978 is a Mustang 2, the small one. 1978 is the year model listed in the Craigslist ad. They make fast drag cars but that'* about it, they have no interior room.

The Mustang II was Karens first car. But I think she would like something a bit roomier, or with a larger "oohahh" factor. We were going to talk about it when I get home tonight, but I doubt we will go ahead with it. If it were a '73, I would have gone home sick and go get it
