Change of jobs and new mission for the Bonneville...
Whew, never thought I would be saying this, but in two weeks time I will be leaving the world of copiers behind forever. That is when I start my new job as IT manager for a foodservice company'* branch in Daytona. Staff of three, regular hours, and NO MORE TRAVEL!!! It'* even close enough that I can ride the motorcycle to work.
So, that changes the mission of the Bonneville. With no more 200 mile days, no parts to cart around, no need to wear a suit and tie...I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the car.
I guess I'll keep it...it'* still under 80k miles and having a 4-door around is pretty handy.

Leaving behind the promising field of copier repair? Wont you miss opening a box that contains a broken part at a critical account? That registration setting that just never seems to setup right? The noise that only one person in the office can hear and just happens to be the keyop? Customers that insist on reusing side 2 of waste copies thats been sitting near a leaky window soaking up humidity for a month and then wonder why it jams, curls and wrinkles?
yeah I wouldnt miss it either LOL. Edited to add, I do actually believe I was born to do this type of work, laying all jokes aside
Good job on the new job and I hope you enjoy it! I would keep the Bonne however, but thats just me

Yeah, for me it'* the reverse. I started out as a programmer on accounting systems back in the early 1980'*, contract programmer in the 1990'*, IT manager up through 2003 when I got axed in a corporate take-over. Doing copiers was something to pay the bills at a time when nobody else was hiring. Going back to an IT management job is like going home. I can't think of much about the copier world that I will miss.
As to the Bonnie, I know I'll keep it at least through the engine swap...it'* become a bit of a compulsion to finish it. After that, who knows. I'd still like to build an AC Cobra for playing around.

Re: Change of jobs and new mission for the Bonneville...
Well, Today is the day. I have to turn in my notice to my current employers. Got the letter in the mail yesterday from my new employers with a formal offer of the job. Signed it, made copies (one of which I'm gunna frame and hang on the wall) and turn the other in so I've officially accepted the new position.
Now the fun part begins... The resignation letter with the offer to work out the comming week. The company is having a little "Rah Rah!" shinding over in Tampa this weekend. It'* more of a opportunity for the owners of the company to pump their own egos. I've pretty much refused to go for the past three years.
This should go over well with the offensive little ***** who is my current boss (the good boss I had left a few months ago). "Hi, enjoy your coctails, you now have 10,000 square miles of Florida with nobody to handle the IT related problems."

It seems to me that you are enjoying this just a little too much, Curt....lol.
Good for you!
Glad you are back into something you like.
As for the Bonne, I'd be remiss if I didn't say you should keep it. At least until after this year'* SEBF anyway. Liz would miss you guys.
