i was just coming home from reading pa back to allentown pa where i live which is about 1 hour away so i stopped to get some gas half way home about 30 miles to go and i only had less then a quarter tank so i my right i see a (top star) gas station. first time i ever seen one but the price was fair ($3.05.9) a gallon so i pulled in and walked in side i had my cell phone in my hand because i was taliking to my wife and i hung up the call and told the kid working there who was about my age (26) to let me have $25 on pump 3 and these chips and sprite. so then i said you dont have any dr pepper and he said yes right back there by the car assecciores and he pointed and i looked and then said ok so he said just pay for this and exchange it for the one you want and just take it. so i paid for the gas and soda and chips and then walked to change the soda then left the store to pump my gas and go.. os i closed the gas cap started the car and procedded home. about 2 miles away i went to call my wife back and i realized i left my phone on the counter when i took out my wallet to pay. so i made a legal u-turn and went straight back and went in and asked the kid if he found my cell phone i described it as he stood silent and looked at me then he said no maybe some one behind you took it. the only person behind me was a older man about 45-50 with his son or grandson about 8 or 9 yrs old so i doubt they took it i told him and he said well i did not see it was it left here. so i said yes it was thats why im here asking you. so he then says maybe the people behind you took it. so then i said can you please check the security tapes and that will solve everything. so then he says sorry we have no security cameras in this veiw. so i get mad and say o.k i see atleast 5 cameras and he said well only the one watching the door and the ones outside watching the pumps actually record and the others just show up on the tv to scare people. so i said thats not right , can i speak to a manager and he said he was the only person that works the night shift and the manger is here during the day. so i said that is bu(($h!t and you no it. so he said well thank you and have a good night please come again. so i said i will be back tomorrow to see somebody who can actually check the tape so he said i told you they dont record so dont waste your time ... and i said in a place this big ( about 3000 sf) you have to be recording so ill be back tomorrow with the police to see your manager and he looked upset and said dont waste your time, have a good night.....

wtf is up with people.. why do they have to steal your cell phone if they are working already.. are people really this low.... wow im p'd off man .. a brand new 2 month old cingular 3125 phone. cost me $259 because i did not want to add another 2 years to my contract and get it for free.... and the worst part is that there is no way on earth that i can even begin to replace all the numbers i had on the phone.....
people that i did work for and people that gave me side jods to do for them and all my long distance friends and family numbers that i cant replace..i had some of thos #'* for atleast 6 or 7 years... they can keep the phone what i care about is my sim card........

does anybody have a cheap cingular/at&t phont that they dont need. pm me... thanks

Absolutely follow up, but keep a cool clear head and voice about it. The manager is alot more likely to listen to you if you're calm and collected.

Call your cell provider and put a 'freeze' on your phone.

oh i will follow up and trust me i will be very cool and calm when i go back because i learned my lesson with firestone. and willwren gave me some very good words of advice that made me realize that being calm gets alot more accomplised then gettint hot headed... but i will go back tomorrow and maybe with a cop.

Did you phone your cell and see if anyone answered?

Don't most new phones have a locator built in? If so the service provider could find the phone if it'* turned on.

Yeah, being calm will get you a lot more than flipping out, and it will make people want to deal with you and help you more.

I probably would have asked to borrow the store phone to call your phone and see if it actually rang in the store while you were there. If the employee did take it, he probably would have said you couldn't use the phone for X reason.

Either way, the manager is your best bet, but you would want to do it soon. Also, do you know what the serial number on the phone was? That might help you get it back if found.

Guilty *** punk.... I hope he resists arrest and gets the snot beat out of him by a cop with a stick. Or you could do it. Remember, no cameras to record according to the clerk. I hate thieves with a passion....

i did not think about asking him to use his phone to call mine but he probally would have said we dont have long distance or something.. but yeah i will be going back today to see what i can find out.. and the lil punk is lucky i know how to control my temper now... so a stick is out the question..lol. but i just dont get it its christmas so that means its time to streal and rob... oh and in my town 3 days ago 2 boys ages 18 and 19 were arrested for setting a homeless guy on fire. aint that showng the christmas spirit or what..

As for holiday spirits, someone busted my mail box with a bat the day after thanksgiving while my wife and I were out of town.... If it happens again, I'm building the unbreakable mailbox.
