Drown it before she gets home. Kittens die randomly all the time, she'll never suspect you.
Seriously though, I had the SAME THING happen to me a few years ago. Her mom found a pregnant stray, and ended up with a bunch of kittens on the front porch. It wasn't long before one was in our house.
Then we had to get ANOTHER one, to keep the first company.
Finally got rid of them when our little girl started crawling around eating cat hair covered sticky Cheerios.

We have outdoor cats. After a couple of litters, we are getting them fixed (kitten makers removed ) so that we have no more additions. As well, every other house on this block has an outdoor cat or 2.
Last (and only) time we had an indoor cat, I got used to her pretty fast. I am not a cat lover by any stretch, I just tolerate them for the sake of my wife and daughter. The little critter might grow on you, I wasnt mean nor affectionate to our indoor Manx, but when my wife would hear me come home, she would say "Daddy'* home" and that cat would wait by the door for me. And usually spend the rest of the night in my lap.
I was kinda sad when she passed of old age, and now we have birds, gerbil and a hamster. Not exactly cat friendly.
They can be fun to just watch, they pounce on the oddest things. Not sure I would trust one with a small child though.

Cats make great companions.... I have 2 of them one is a fat bastid the other suffers from schizophrenia. But i can leave home for 3 or 4 days and have no worries well except maybe the odd hair ball now and then.
