I'm writing a story about Bonneville Club as a subculture piece for a nonfiction class. There is quite an online community around this site, and I would like to hear some people'* thoughts on the depth of their involvement with the club. Do you really feel the site is addictive? Why or why not? Do you personally try to limit the amount of time you spend on the site? Is there such thing as "too much Bonneville Club," and where do you draw the line?

I would also like to see some comments on why you feel the site keeps people coming back, and why things run so smoothly around here. Another interesting subject would be whether it is wise to develop strong friendships online, and if online friendships cause a decline in time spent with offline friends or loved ones.

It would be great to get some friendly dialogue about these topics. This is not a place to bash members who spend more or less time on BC than the average user. Keep in mind that I would ideally like to use some quotes from this thread in my story. Let'* hear what the Bonneville Club has to say!

I, personally, stay on here until I've read every post I'm interested in. Or until I am done posting. I can't say there is such a thing as "too much time". I check every few minutes for new posts or replies. I guess how economically that time is spent can only be based on your own judgement.

I think the reason people keep coming back is because, unlike a lot of other forums I've been too, this one is actually feels like a community. Not just a "core group" and a bunch of lurkers. Everyone is welcomed and encouraged to participate. Everyone gets the same treatment. Ask a question, get an answer. Not just if you're a regular. And our Staff/Police Force keep the "riff-raff" under control.

I come on BC on a usual daily basis, just because it is really an amazing forum, its almost like a big neighborhood, almost a perfect neighborhood, whenever you need advice on something, you neightbor will help you out. It really is not like any other forum I have ever seen. It has stort of a warm feeling to it...with real people. Other forums seem to have a bunch of creeps and people of really don't care...about anything, let alone someone elses problems. For staying on too long? I would say definitely. I am on here so long that I just start posting useless posts. My mom sometimes gets a little pissed at me for not being here. I mean i'm here...just not HERE. I also think that this forum would not be what it is without all of our prison wardens, i mean staff It really keeps the forum looking good, and really makes it an inviting place for new members. We just need more people to register. Today we have twice as many guests as we do logged in registered users! If there are any guests reading this, PLEASE JOIN, WE DON'T BITE, ...HARD...

But it'* a great way to meet friends, share what interests you, and learn alot of new things....not just cars. And got to be more healthy than to rely on the sickening state of affairs as far as to what Madison Ave dictated TV has become. Are the ad execs really that warped, cause I see them as thinking the public has an IQ of a lab rat!

Ever since I bought my Bonne and was reffered to this site, I have been addicted. Why? Because it is diverse.

Bonnevilleclub.com is a one stop service arena. You can buy parts for your car for cheap money, you can help a fellow member out and sell parts on here for cheap money, there are how to topics to help with pretty much any year Bonneville, There are many members who are very knowledgeable because of their experience with the same exact problem that you have because they've done it and are willing to help, theres even an area to let go of the everyday mahem and enjoy topics like Shhhhhhhhhhhh and funny articles and jokes posted by other members. Bonneville club is a well rounded public Forum.

I have been in other forums where people try to bash you to make themselves look good and boast to the other members that your stupid and they know everything. I have had my share of Forum Fights

I think that the MAIN reason why this forum works so well is because of things like NEBF which puts an online community together in person so that you actually get to meet and get to know and respect the other members (Even though you may wake up with the word ***** across your forehead and smell feet for days) but its all good fun and everyone gets along with one another.

I also like BC because no matter how many black Bonnevilles with ghetto gold rims are whoraged on this site, other members are ALWAYS complimenting and cool about it!!!

Lastly, You have no choice but to be addicted to this forum because once you get through all of the topics, you scroll back up and new posts are everywhere You just HAVE to read them!!

YES, BC is f***ing addictive, but there'* one reason for that; IT'* FUN!!

I think the reason we all ended up here, rather than some other forum, is that it is so easy here to remember that there is actually a person on the other side of the screen. Most places get out of control because people DON'T keep that in mind.
