Yep,sounds like he'* SOL to me too. He should know there are no warranties on ebay unless stated. Remember,you can respond to the neg feedback he leaves.

Probably nothing wrong with the motor you sold him. It sounds like this sucker is hard up for cash. Is this individual your dealing with a newbie to ebay, or is he a fellow that is in good standings with ebay with positive feedback? After 9 weeks, and him trying to threaten you with an attorney, he has no legal ground to stand on! All items are sold AS-IS with no warranty expressed or implied.

For all you know he could be trying to send you back the part that he replaced! If you don't specify a warranty on eBay as a seller the buyer should always assume none. Generally eBay auctions carry no warranty expressed or implied on the part of the seller (unless otherwise stated by the seller). Have heard of Paypal offering a buyer protection but again that doesn't fall on you as the seller.
