The GP GXPs have a MSRP around $30,000 and 07 models are selling for $17-$20k with 30k miles or so.

Anyone think this trend will be the same with the G8 or will it not lose its value like a GP?

Cool if the G8 looses its value quickly? Not cool for GM

I don't think it will depreciate quickly. The G8 is all the rave on Auto review sites, and it is a HOT car, the local Pontiac dealer had 5 G8s a few days ago, and they are GONE. The car has it'* advantages compared to the GP GXP, such as a powerful, large V8, RWD, excellent handling, above average interior quality, etc. I honestly don't see the G8 GT going under 20k for 3-4 years.

The GP GXP was the last model year, which means it will depreciate quicker. So, barring some sort of catastrophe, the G8 will not match its price.

Limited production, especially for the 09 model year, New car, yet proven, and fun powertrain. Possibly one of the last "muscle cars" depending on how legislation and standards go the next few years.

1/3 depreciation in one year on a G8? Please, it'* not an H body
