One thing I want to put out there to anyone considering coming to help.
All building is done by hand, with hammers and nails. NO nail guns or drills.
We even lifted the trusses up onto the roof with sheer muscle power, no cranes.
Just wanted everyone to be warned for what they may be getting into.
Please feel free to ask any questions.
Also, if no one can help, that is fine. I am not trying to solicit any help, just repsonding to offers or suggestions that have been put out there.

24 hours down, 276 to go.
Yesterday my wife and I did out first 16 hours, and my good friend helped out so we got a total of 24 woo hoo. Well, gotta start somewhere.

I wish I lived closer. I would love the experience and knowing I am helping someone less fortunate is a added bonus. But...................I would have to bring my own power tools

Yeah, the whole no power tools thing really stinks. I mean, we use power saws, but no drills or nail guns. That'* a lot of nail pounding.
But it will be worth it in the end.
I would love the help if people wanna come. Actually, we work all year, so we can do it whenever. I need to give them about 4 weeks notice so they can schedule it though.
And, they actually say it'* best to have a couple of dates in mind because they have so many volunteer groups.
