do parking tickets affect insurance rates?
well i was visiting a friends house, and parking near it is horrible, and you cant tell what places are no parking and what arent as far as im concerned....plus its next to impossible to stop to parrallel park because the street is so busy.
So I parked in a spot that i thought was legal, and my car was facing opposite of all the other cars parked on that side of the street, because it was easier to park like that.
So i came out to find not 1, but 2 parking tickets slapped on my window.
Turns out I can either appear in court, or pay them both at 25 bucks a pop. Im not worried about either...what I am worried about is my insurance, I already have one ticket under my belt, plus an accident, and supposedly my insurance has me on probation, and if i screw up again, theyre going to drop me? thats just what my mom told me.
So if anyone has any insight it would sure make me feel better

It needs to be a moving violation in order for your insurance to be affected.
Or if you're like me you have an insurance provider that doesnt raise rates based on tickets or accidents.

well the town its in is about an hour and a half away, it costs me close to 10 dollars in gas just to drive here and back again, so I guess ill just have to suck it up and pay them. Its just hard for the average college student to just whip out 50 bucks like that. I guess theres always my savings account
Could someone also please explain no parking signs to me? The ones around here have simply "no parking" with a red arrow udner them, does that mean everything in the direction of the arrow from that point is no parking?
