Under default setting, IE will not download and execute something unless the user says so.

As for pop-ups, I get a few here and there, but nothing bad. They have really come a long way with this browser.

The Mozilla viruses, spyware, and malware are out there. I get calls every day wondering if the anti-virus and spyware programs we support will fix Firefox, opera, etc, because someone believed the hype, thought they were invulnerable, only to find that the hackers have found them. Unfotunately for you anti-MS folks, the good guys haven't been as fast.....

I only use EI, but my friend has both and when using FF on his come and you click a link for a vid it will not open right away like EI, it opens a window asking weather you and to save or run file and when you click run it takes forever for load where as when you do it with EI it opens and loads almost right away...who knows maybe its just his comp?

there are some things about firefox that just dont work for me
1. takes to long to load... i am always opening and closing IE, and its instant, while firefox takes a good couple seconds

2. when posting, the tags do not work when text is selected, ex. [b], [img] etc...

when i am at work on my mac i prefer safari though
for that loading problem...yeah the older version used to load REALLY slow...the new versions load like lighning....or maybe your computer is just..well slow..

I think haro lost on that battle...

i am using FF 1.5.0.1 and it works faster than aby browser than i have EVER used...

how many people have test driven IE 7? Now that browser is a whole other animal...it is still no FF but it has tabs built in and alot of the same features that FF has, but no definitely not the same....

I still have to use IE 6 for SOME things..some websites that are behind the technology fad curve...FF used to be a fad now it is really sticking around.

How many FF users have changed the skin, and what did you change it to?

I have mine on REDSHIFT..i like it...

I have used several in past and always go with I.E. I've used since the beginning of I.E. and understand it pretty explicitly (for someone electronically challenged)
I rely on bought virus and spyware programs- dont trust provider or browser to keep up.
Havent use a beta browser since I.E. 4 beta run quirkey as hell and finally killed my fairly new AMD 267MMX and had to Fdisk and lost alot of stuff for good
I dont know about these days but when computers were slower have multible browers always meant trouble.
