Default I'm finally certified

Hi all
May not be a big deal to a lot of ppl, but i got my certification for Fork Lift driver the other day. I scored 100% in theory and 95% in practical..... I was pretty nervous as my regular job depended on me getting my ticket and the fact i was 1 or 2 women in the class of 31 ppl..... Anyways just something i felt the need to share...

Renee got hers a few months ago, since it was offered free through her union ( labour union). She had never driven one either, and the instructor had her do way more than any other student since she was so nervous. She was able to spot more things wrong with the forklifts (during the circle check) than anyone else, even the instructor, and some of these people have been around them for a long time.

I wish I had my certification though.

I remember that video!

My dad was driving a lift loaded with rolls of paper pulp; was backing down a ramp off a truck when the brakes went out. He crashed through a brick wall into the control room for the plant. He was fine and all the control room guys were happy cause they got the day off. Those lifts sure can get a lot of momentum going!

Default hey

Good job. Thats a task. I can remeber when any jo could get on one and they usually hurt someone. Oh that was me. Some guy climbed up on his truck when I was loading a 6x12x20 on his yruck. It planted him in the head. ( His fault )

Thanks all.. I have to do a refresher course every 3 years but the training company FTT comes to the plant in about 18 months to make sure you haven't picked up any bad habits.
2 years ago the HomeHardware store right across the street had a fatal accident with a forklift. A untrained 19 year old kid got off his forklift to check something on a trailer and it rolled down the little incline and crushed him up against the trailer. He died at the scene. :( Safety First
