Lounge For casual talk about things unrelated to General Motors. In other words, off-topic stuff. And anything else that does not fit Section Description.

The ONLY thing WMC does well is act like a DVR. Playing content that you have downloaded however, it fails at.

XBMC, just so you know, is ONLY for playing downloaded content. If your HTPC has a TV tuner in it then you'll want to use a DVR front end. WMC works for this if you don't want to pay money. If you want a better experience you have some options.

Also, if you're curious where I get my content from. I used to be a torrent kind of person. Now I'm a Newsgroup/Usenet kind of person. $10 a month is worth the ease and speed and quality of my downloads.

Astraweb (usenet provider, $10/month) + sabnzbd (downloader) + sickbeard (TV show search) + CouchPotato (movie search) = greatness.

All that together is the best thing ever since I'm here in Korea. It finds all of my TV shows after they're ripped/uploaded and then downloads them for me. I can also set it up to where it sends my HTPC a message stating that said download is done and that episode is ready to watch.
