There'* some weird licensing laws out there...the Police vehicles don't have to be debadged, because they are police vehicles, and different licensing laws cover them...
The Suburban had to be debadged because they would have had to pay licensing fees to GM if they showed the GMC badges, and GM would never have agreed to license their badges for a scene where one of their vehicles was damaged that badly...which BTW, there is ZERO chance that anyone in that Suburban would have survived an impact that did that to the passenger compartment. For one, to do that kind of damage, the damn thing would have had to run into that stang at well over 100mph...

BTW, even the old, rusty dumptruck that blocks the badguy'* Edge was a ford...

This show looks like it'* gonna shape up worse than Viper.

I think it was kinda cool for a movie. Totally wrong from my car guy point of view. I just hope nobody else loggged on to win a GT500KR. I want one.

At the end of Cast Away, the woman pulls away from Tom Hanks' character in an old Ford pickup truck and a dog in the back. Then Hanks smiles. But I'm sure the plane that crashed had at least a few Ford parts.

yeah....but thats not THAT obvious. they only used TWO major cadillacs, a CTS and an EXT and didn't do things like make the cadillacs look invincible.

unless of course you mean all the cars they wrecked on the freeway...which were mostly gm..if not all. but that might be a coincidence since they were all used cars it appeared, so why just gm? just like this new show...the 'other' cars, the used ones...weren't fords.

I now hate this show with a passion. They ruined the Knight Rider I grew up with.
The Mustang was almost forgivable, but Val Kilmer as KITT'* voice also ticked me off...KITT had a BRITISH voice dammit. And the idea that this is continuation of the original, but that the KITT is a totally new program kinda ticks me off. I mean, KITT was an intelligent program, and the idea that they wrote him off for a new program is wrong. KITT was more the main character of the original series than Michael was.

Anyway, more annoying than that was the lousy acting, horrifyingly bad stunt sequences, and just downright bad writing. I mean, they didn't skip even one hokey action series cliche.
At the motel, as soon as they made it clear that the bad guys were uncertain which room the old man was in, and the hero was going in, and his Mom had a gun, I KNEW that the hero would find the right room, and his Mom would fire a shot, miss him, and take a chunk out of the door or the frame.
And the idea that a truck, SUV, crossover, (or whatever the hell you call that Edge POS) driven by a goon is going to keep up with a super-powered intelligent car with a thousand horsepower and better reflexes than a Formula One driver...
Anyway, I'm done with the show. I can't believe I actually watched the whole pilot...worse than Viper...

So how is this ANY different than Transformers and GM? Everywhere you look in that movie there'* a GM vehicle. I agree, the show was pretty bad, but its not like this is the only time this has happened as far as product placement goes.
