Default Big exhaust!

So half way through the day today I'm walking through the shop & i walk past the room where we have sand blasters and stuff like that. And one of our mechanics is sand blasting what looks like exhaust pipe. So I go over and talk to him; here it is 3.5" exhaust about in the shape of a X and is 5 feet long It is for his race car which is not boosted in any way. I saw him race once & I think the class he races in is called "sportsman" but it is the top class at a local circle track. I know he has many sponsers and mega $$ in his motor but what kind of cubes would you need to have to run 3.5" completely open?

OH,,, probably a 454 would be used with such, assuming a single exhaust.
Certainly not the 2 litres the ricers run.
