i paid $1899, i got the 14" screen with the airport card, 640mb ram, 6hr battery and 800mhz. i bought it directly from apple. i shouldn't have done that, it was cheaper at the local compusa.

1. XP home is a ripoff... spend the little extra and get PRO. Used to be there were major differences between microsoft'* home and professional lines. now XP home is just a neutered version of Professional. It makes doing anything network related VERY hard.
2. Ibook EWWW. overpriced piece of modern art. ill take a good ol Dell anyday or my own homebuild desktop

Well, I'm back to ME for now. Had a compatibility hardware problem halfway thru. Gotta figure out what it was. Then I'll try it again. At least the Bios flash went ok. I've got XP Pro.......maybe tomorrow if I can figure this out.

This PC came with 95. Went to 98, then SE, then ME. No problems. XP is a totally different animal. I've heard similar problems from Dell, Compaq (now hp also), Gateway, etc. XP is just a bigger step away from the traditional operating system.
I'll stay brand loyal. When you work for a company, you tend to buy the products with the familiar logo. I get pretty good support when I need it
I also get good discounts, and have 'given a new home' to some outdated equipment in the past.
