best horror movies?
borrowed some movies from my brother:
The Village
The Return
In Dreams
The Hills Have Eyes
The Hills Have Eyes 2
Dark Ride
Abandoned
Nightmare Man
so it occurs to me, what are your fave horror movies?
and am i alone in thinking that a horror film is made significantly better if it has nudity? something to do with grittiness, i think. when i was picking movies out today, i was hesitant to pick out a horror movie that didnt have violence, gore, and nudity (2 out of 3, at least)

That'* funny, I agree with you, the horror movies are nothing without gory, nudity and violence.
If you want to go old-school, my favorite is the Friday the 13th series.
Lately I'm a sucker for those creepy, bone-chilling Japanese films, the Shutter comes to mind, as well the Grudge 1/2
I don't recall Dark Ride, what is it?
I liked Black Cadillac, an independent movie, poorly directed but fun to watch since it'* car-related...

lots of movies here ive never heard of . . .
and got to be honest, i prefer the remake of the shining. but the kid is just creepy. but then, most kids are (seen the Good Son? both of them are just creepy)
Dark Ride:
Nearly a decade after two young girls were brutally murdered, the monstrous killer, Jonah, escapes from a mental institution and returns to his familiar killing ground, the theme park attraction "Dark Ride". His unfortunate victims this time are a group of college kids on a road trip that inevitably leads them to the Dark Ride where their night of youthful fun becomes a nightmare. The killer, who is mimicking the sets within the attraction, makes sure this is a "ride" audiences will never forget.

the ones that scare me the most are the ones that have to do with being at home.
i don't remember exactly, but i think domestic disturbance is one of those, also disturbia (that one'* funny and teenager based, kinda why i like it), what lies beneath, stir of echoes.
for more old-school scary, i have to say i like John Carpenter'* "The Thing"...i saw that when i was much younger and remember being terrified
sorry if you all think my choices suck, those are the ones that creep me out the most
